Global Sae-A Group donates USD 70,000 worth of winter apparel to Ukrainian refugees and children

  • Global Sae-A Group manufactured winter clothes for donation from all of its factories around the world
  • Global Sae-A Group established a fund to help refugees and recovery efforts with plans for continued support

[2022.11.23] The Global Sae-A Group (Chairman Kim Woong-ki) has set out to actively provide support for refugees and children affected by the war in Ukraine.
Last June, the Global Sae-A Group Chairman, Kim Woong-ki, expressed his intent to provide a donation of winter apparel, such as clothes and blankets worth approx. $70,000, to provide aid for the refugees and children that were set to suffer during the forthcoming cold winter after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
According to reports by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the number of people who have fled to nearby countries due to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has reached over 7 million, of which 90% are either children or women, and many children are thought to have fled by themselves without a guardian.
The clothing goods that have been donated to the Ukrainian refugees and children were manufactured by the Global Sae-A Group’s key affiliate, Sae-A Trading, the world’s largest manufacturer and exporter of apparel, in its factories located in Guatemala, Haiti, Indonesia and Vietnam. The Global Sae-A Group collected all of the clothing items manufactured in each of the factories located around the world, and donated it to the Ukrainian refugees and children through the international aid organization, ‘CORE (Community Organized Relief Effort)’.
A particularly strong cold snap is expected around the world this winter because of the La Nina weather phenomenon, and therefore the relief clothing goods donated by Global Sae-A Group via CORE will be used by Ukrainian refugees and children, who are suffering due to the war and cold wave, to stay warm this winter.
In addition, the Global Sae-A Group plans to establish a fund every year to provide support for the refugees and children of Ukraine and for the country’s recovery efforts.

A Global Sae-A Group official said, “The Global Sae-A Group looks to open handedly support many countries in their recovery from natural and social disasters. In order to realize the social value that the Global Sae-A Group strives for, we have decided to provide aid for children who are suffering because of the war and provide support for humanitarian reasons.” They added, “The Global Sae-A Group is not only providing clothing goods, but we are also establishing and operating a fund for the restoration efforts from Ukrainian war, and we will continue to help the recovery of Ukraine.”
