Sae-A Trading Advances Sustainability Initiatives Through Climate Fresk Workshop with Ecocert and FSC

Sae-A Trading employees, FSC Korea representatives, and students from Ewha Womans University attended the Climate Fresk workshop held on February.

As part of its ongoing commitment to sustainability, Sae-A Trading—a leading global apparel manufacturer under the Global Sae-A Group—recently took part in the Climate Fresk workshop, an interactive program designed to deepen understanding of climate change. Organized by Ecocert, a renowned international certification body, the event brought together Sae-A Trading’s ESG division and international sales team, as well as FSC Korea representatives and students from Ewha Womans University’s Department of Clothing & Textiles.

The Climate Fresk workshop, developed in France, transforms complex climate science into an engaging, interactive experience. Using a card-based system, participants mapped out the connections between human activities and environmental impact, uncovering key drivers of climate change. Belgian entertainer and sustainability advocate Julien Quintart facilitated the session, guiding discussions on both the challenges and solutions for achieving a more sustainable future.

Working in teams, attendees created visual diagrams illustrating how climate change affects industries, communities, and ecosystems. This collaborative approach encouraged dynamic discussions on corporate sustainability strategies and practical steps individuals can take, fostering a deeper understanding of collective responsibility.

Sae-A Trading has long been a leader in sustainability within the apparel industry. Since establishing its dedicated ESG division in 2008, the company has actively pursued environmental and ethical business initiatives. In 2023, Sae-A Trading joined the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) to accelerate its Net-Zero implementation, becoming the first company in Korea’s textile and apparel industry to receive SBTi approval for its 2030 greenhouse gas reduction targets and 2050 Net-Zero goals. The company further reinforced its commitment in May 2024 by joining the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC). Additionally, through its involvement in FSC’s Fashion Forever Green Pact, Sae-A Trading continues to drive responsible sourcing and sustainable manufacturing practices.

Reflecting on the Climate Fresk workshop, Saila Kim, Chief Sales Officer of Sae-A Trading, highlighted the value of an interactive learning approach in tackling climate challenges. “This workshop provided a fresh perspective into how climate change impacts businesses. It was an invaluable opportunity for our team to exchange ideas and explore solutions together. Sae-A Trading remains committed to advancing corporate sustainability strategies and fostering global partnerships to create lasting environmental impact.”

By continuously exploring innovative ways to integrate sustainability into its business operations, Sae-A Trading reaffirms its leadership in responsible manufacturing and global climate action.
