Sae-A Trading, the world’s largest apparel manufacturing company, is accelerating practical implementation towards Net-Zero by joining the Science Based Target initiative (SBTi).

Sae-A Trading (CEO Ha Jeong-su, pictured) has been carrying out various socially responsible activities under its slogan, ‘The more you wear Sae-A, the more Sae-A shares’. Sae-A has established teams exclusively responsible for social contribution in all of its overseas subsidiaries, and they have been carrying out activities that meet the needs of the countries in which they are located. The key body involved is the ‘Sae-A Foundation’, which was established by the Group in 2015. It is an organization that contributes to the local communities of the countries that the company has entered, as well as aid their economic development.

Sae-A Trading announced on the 30th that it had won the grand prize in the ESG corporate sector at the 15th National Sustainability Management Excellence Awards ceremony.

The 15th National Sustainability Management Conference, hosted by the Korea Journalists Association was held to encourage and spread sustainable management activities by domestic companies and organizations, thereby contributing to the improvement of future value.

South Korea’s leading clothing export company, Sae-A Trading, recently began operations of a new factory in the Central American state of the Dominican Republic. The factory is equipped with the latest equipment, 26 production lines, and able to produce US$ 36 million worth of export goods annually. The motto of this new production subsidiary is ‘localization’, meaning that all senior positions, from the factory manager to each departmental managerial positions, are hired locally, in order to localize the branch and create jobs in the region.
